Real Madrid deny agreeing £240m Kylian Mbappe transfer fee and describe rumours as ‘flatly false’

REAL MADRID have issued a flat denial they have agreed a £240million fee with Paris Saint-Germain for Kylian Mabppe.

The European champions are reportedly looking at new attackers with Cristiano Ronaldo set to leave the club, with Juventus favourites to land the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.

But after several reports linking Mbappe to the Bernabeu, Real attempted to keep smooth relations with PSG by issuing a statement.

It read: “Given the information published in the last [few] hours referring to an alleged agreement between Real Madrid and PSG by player Kylian Mbappe, Real Madrid says they are flatly false.

“Real Madrid has not made any offers to PSG or the player and regrets the dissemination of this type of information that is not contrasted with the parties.”

Reports in Spain have linked Real to both Mbappe and Neymar today, with both AS and Marca carrying front page splashes on the story.

But Real were keen to deny interest had progressed any further than just that.

Mbappe is due to complete his transfer to PSG this summer, after playing for them on loan from Monaco last season.

The staggering £162million fee for the forward is one of the highest in football history.

Mbappe has lit up the World Cup for France after a stellar performance against Argentina in their thrilling 4-3 win.

He ran from box to box with the ball to win a penalty, which was scored by Antoine Griezmann, before adding two goals of his own.
