Fantasy football tips: Best Chelsea players to transfer into your team
Chelsea will have their work cut out in recovering from their disastrous last season in the Premier League and fantasy football.
The Blues finished sixth in the league and a public dispute with their former manager Antonio Conte rumbled on into the beginning of their pre-season.
Now with Maurizio Sarri at the helm, Chelsea will hope to see a change in their fortunes and begin to compete for the top honours once again, with a squad full of big points scorers in fantasy football.
SIGN UP NOW – It’s time to pick your fantasy football team for the new seasonEden Hazard – £6m
Belgian talisman scored 281 points last year.
Jorginho – £2.5m
Consistent midfielder will bring stability to Stamford Bridge.
Times Newspapers Ltd The Spaniard is always reliable[/caption]
Azpilicueta has become one of the most consistent defenders in Europe.
The Spaniard has seen his position changed from a right-back to a centre-back in recent years, however his performances haven’t faltered.
The 28-year-old was one of the bright sparks in what was an otherwise disappointing campaign for Chelsea last season, as he scored an impressive 197 points in fantasy football.
Azpilicueta will not only get you points for clean sheets, but will also pop up with goals and assists, just as he did last season, scoring three and setting up seven.
The consistent defender will set Dream Team managers back £4.5m in this year’s game.
2 Marcos Alonso – £4.5mPA:Press Association The marauding wing-back is a fantasy football dream[/caption]
Alonso is an absolute points-machine in fantasy football.
The Spaniard has taken over from old fantasy football favourite Leighton Baines as the left-back who scores points for fun.
The 27-year-old not only picks up points for clean sheets, but also goals and assists, as he is basically deployed as a winger for Chelsea.
Alonso got a mammoth 204 points in fantasy football last season, with the bulk of those coming after he scored eight and assisted four.
He is priced up at £4.5m in this season’s game, a relative steal considering what he could bring to your fantasy football team.
3 Jorginho – £3.5mGetty Images - Getty The cultured midfielder will bring class to Stamford Bridge[/caption]
Jorginho was Chelsea’s first summer signing and represented a coup for the club considering Man City’s long-held interest in the player.
According to Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis, the Italian rejected City as he favoured living in London instead.
Jorginho will slot in alongside N’Golo Kante to form what looks like a formidable midfielder partnership.
The Metronome midfielder has already impressed in pre-season and will surely prove a popular choice for Dream Team managers, especially with a price-tag of £3.5m in this year’s game.
4 Eden Hazard – £6mREUTERS The Belgium has been linked with a move to Real Madrid[/caption]
If Hazard stays with Chelsea, he is a must have in fantasy football, it’s that simple.
The Belgium is currently the subject of rumours linking him with a move away from Stamford Bridge, with Real Madrid the potential suitors.
Hazard was a key player for Chelsea last season and also in fantasy football, as he scored a hefty 281 points last season.
The Belgium wizard isn’t a cheap option in this year’s game at £6m, however he is guaranteed to return your investment with points and plenty of them.
5 Alvaro Morata – £3.5mGetty Images - Getty The Spaniard faded after a promising start in England[/caption]
A potentially controversial inclusion on this list, we just can’t help believing in Morata.
The Spaniard set the Premier League alight during the first few months of last season, before a sharp downturn in his form saw him fall out of favour at Stamford Bridge.
Despite fading in the second half of the season, the 25-year-old still picked up a respectable 136 points last season.
Morata could be one of the bargains of the season at just £3.5m in this year’s fantasy football game.
Under a new manager, the striker could be reinvigorated and return to the promising form he showed at the start of the season.
What are the Dream Team rules?Every single season the Premier League gets more intriguing – and playing Dream Team really is the perfect way to enhance your experience of it.
You’ll be assigned a total budget of £50m for each side you pick and you’ll be able pick a maximum of 10 free teams.
The Game Weeks run from Friday to Thursday, effectively meaning the new Game Week starts after the last Europa League games are completed.
Emery and Arsenal will tackle the Europa League this seasonGettyYou get three transfers a month on the first Friday of every month so using them wisely is essential.
Every player on the game will be assigned a price at the start of the season which will then vary and fluctuate on a weekly basis dependent on their performances.
For example, last season we valued Mo Salah at £4m at the start of the season but the Egyptian King rocketed to over £11m by the end after his stunning goalscoring form.

There’s one very big problem with Fulham’s new £40million signing Jean Michael Seri’s feet
How often can you say Fulham beat Barcelona, Liverpool and a whole host of other European heavyweights to a signing?
I’ll tell you how often, not very at all.
So drink it in Fulham fans, you’ve reached the big time.
Fulham is London’s equivalent of the RivieraGetty - ContributorPretty astonishingly Fulham have somehow managed to pull off the signing of Nice’s Jean Michael Seri for the tidy sum of £40million.
The diminutive midfielder is a dynamic mix between N’Golo Kante and Xavi and will slot in perfectly next to Tom Cairney at the bright lights of the Etihad and Old Trafford next season.
And I bet there’s already been a few Fulham-based comedy geniuses giving it the ‘Hey Seri, score us a goal’.
Hey Seri, what can you tell me about Fulham's new signing?
— Andrew Carless (@jackalpools) July 12, 2018
Hey Siri
Is Seri coming to FFC ?
Don’t get your hopes up.
— Kingsley (@Onemartman) July 10, 2018
Ahem.
Cottagers can be very pleased that their first moves back in the Premier League is to show everyone else that they mean business.
Make no mistake signing Seri is a landmark.
He is a talented and coveted player coming off the back of a decent season and wanted by a host of big clubs.
It’s a coup for a club coming up from the Championship, then again, they are paying £40million for the privilege and there is one rather important issue that could be a huge problem.
*Insert SERI-ously joke here*Getty - ContributorAs you may know, Nice has one of the best climates in Europe.
It gets beautiful sunshine for most of the year and is also a brilliant place to live.
It’s no surprise Seri has fulfilled his potential there.
Unfortunately the same cannot be said for London is known more for its nine-month long winters.

As it turns out the midfielder has a problem with chilblains on his feet that means he almost cannot play in cold weather.
That kind of rules him out from pretty much October-April in England.
“I have ingrown toenails and when it’s cold I need special treatment,” he told Le Point. “I don’t see myself playing in a country where it’s cold. I hurt everywhere and I struggle to train.”
That’s not going to go down too well with Tony Khan when Seri is refusing to play in March because there’s still snow on the pitch.
Someone get him a snood and tell him to get on with it.

It read: “Given the information published in the last [few] hours referring to an alleged agreement between Real Madrid and PSG by player Kylian Mbappe, Real Madrid says they are flatly false.
“Real Madrid has not made any offers to PSG or the player and regrets the dissemination of this type of information that is not contrasted with the parties.”
Reports in Spain have linked Real to both Mbappe and Neymar today, with both AS and Marca carrying front page splashes on the story.
But Real were keen to deny interest had progressed any further than just that.
Mbappe is due to complete his transfer to PSG this summer, after playing for them on loan from Monaco last season.
The staggering £162million fee for the forward is one of the highest in football history.
Mbappe has lit up the World Cup for France after a stellar performance against Argentina in their thrilling 4-3 win.

Edinson Cavani’s first goal vs Portugal was IDENTICAL to Luis Suarez’s first goal vs England in 2014
Let’s all take a minute to appreciate Uruguay’s old-school strike partnership.
Diego Godin and Jose Gimenez were imperious in defence but Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani’s double act was just as influential in Portugal’s demise.
Ying meet YangGetty Images - GettyThe two prolific goalscorers were born in the same town just three weeks apart and the pair of them have been international team-mates for a decade now.
This is their third World Cup together and their chemistry is as strong as ever.
The pair have combined for four goals already this tournament.
Cavani opened the scoring in Sochi after a long-range one-two with Suarez.
The PSG marksman popped up at the back post to convert Suarez’s whipped cross.
If one doesn’t get you, the other willReutersThose with good memories would have instantly been reminded of Suarez’s opening goal against England at the last World Cup.
On that occasion, it was Cavani who provided the cross for Suarez.
The two goals are noticeably similar; with the point of the cross and the finisher’s position in the box almost identical.

Both games ended 2-1 to Uruguay with first Suarez, then Cavani, going on to complete a brace with a sensational winner.
The symmetry is as pleasing is it is ultimately meaningless.
This is what we live for.
